USB(Flash) drive is full,but the files inside are not visible !

 The USB/Flash card is full but the files inside are not visible.

 My USB/Flash stick is infected with a virus.

When I look at my computer, the USB stick appears full, but when I enter the USB memory, nothing appears, it appears empty. It is a common problem.

The USB appears to be empty is caused by the virus making the files hidden.

If  the USB(Flash) drive  is full, but the files inside are not visible, it probably means that the files in the USB stick are hidden. You can use the ''attrib'' command to view hidden files in the USB stick. ''Attrib'' is a command to view hidden files from an old DOS operating system.

If the USB memory stick is full but the files inside are not visible, do the following for a solution:

1. Press the Windows and R keys together and type '' CMD '' on the Run screen and press Enter.

2. Command prompt will open. The cursor blinks on this screen.Type the following command at the command prompt screen :

attrib -H -R -S /S /D E:\*.*

E: in this command is the drive letter assigned to the USB stick.

You have to arrange this yourself. If you click on My Computer, you can see the letter assigned to your drive in the My Computer section. This can be a letter such as E, D, F, J.

When you type the command, it will go down to a bottom line after the command. No message will appear.This will be the solution to the usb memory full but the files in it are not visible.Probably after this process the files in the USB memory will appear.

NOTE: The meaning of the parameters used with the attrib command is as follows:

-H   Removes the privacy feature on files.

-R   Removes the read-only attribute on files

-S   Removes the System property on files.

/S   Applies the above parameters to all files, folders, and subfolders.

/D   also applies operation to folders

E:   The drive letter assigned to your USB drive by windows.
