Creating a Microsoft recovery USB drive

You can use a recovery USB drive to start your computer in case of a problem. The drive also contains Windows system recovery tools that can help you recover Windows from serious errors or restore your computer from a system image. Even if the operating system does not boot, you can use a recovery drive to troubleshoot your computer. Copy the laptop recovery partition to a USB drive; so you can use it if your computer does not start or has problems. Follow the steps below:

🔌🗂  Connect a 32GB or larger USB drive to the computer.

NOTE: Creating the recovery partition uses more than 16GB of space and requires a large-capacity (at least 32GB) USB drive.

🔍 In Windows, search for and open Create a recovery drive. Then click Yes in the User Account Control window that appears.

☑ Check the checkbox for Back up system files to the recovery drive, and then click Next.

🗂 Select the USB drive you want to use and then click Next.

❗ CAUTION: All items on the USB drive are deleted when you create the recovery disc.

👉Click Create in the Create a recovery drive window and wait for the computer to format the USB drive, copy the utilities, backup, and then copy the system files to the USB drive.

👉Click Finish when the driver is ready.

It is ok now, disconnect the USB drive from the computer and save it for use when needed.
